Using Custom AI as slash commands

Each Custom AI in your default workspace shows up as an /eden- command in Claude, Cursor, and other apps connected to Eden.

Type /eden- in your AI app to see your Custom AIs. Pick one and the chat starts with that Custom AI's latest instructions.

Run a Custom AI

  1. 01

    Type / in the composer

    Eden commands start with /eden-. Newsletter Writer becomes /eden-newsletter-writer.

  2. 02

    Add a first request (optional)

    Each command takes one optional input: a topic, a draft, a link, or a question.

  3. 03

    Send it

    With no input, the Custom AI opens by offering its starter prompts.

Where each app shows them

When you ask in plain words, the app loads the Custom AI with the eden_list_custom_ai and eden_get_custom_ai tools. It works the same way.

Change which Custom AIs show up

  • Commands come from your default workspace. If you're in more than one, set Default workspace for connected assistants in Settings → MCP.
  • Create, rename, or archive a Custom AI in Eden and the command list updates, usually within a minute of using the app. Still stale? See get the latest tools.

How sources work outside Eden

  • The app adopts the Custom AI's instructions.
  • It reads the Custom AI's boards, notes, and creators through Eden tools, with your normal access.
  • Bundled knowledge from a purchased Custom AI is read with the Custom AI knowledge tools. See Custom AIs through the MCP.
  • The Custom AI can only use tools that are available in that app.

Eden Skills are not slash commands. Ask your app to list, get, import, or export them instead.
