The Highlights pane

One searchable library for every highlight you make in Eden plus the ones you import from Readwise and Kindle, ready to drop onto boards.

·3 min read

The Highlights pane is where every highlight lives in one place: the ones you make in Eden's reader plus the ones you import from Readwise and Kindle. Search it, filter it, and send lines straight to a board.

Open Highlights from the left sidebar. You get a single searchable, filterable library of every passage you've ever saved, no matter where it came from.

One library, every source

Highlights from all your sources land here together:

  • The highlights you make while reading in Eden
  • Imported highlights from Readwise
  • Imported highlights from Kindle

When you have more than one source connected, provider tabs appear (Readwise, Kindle) so you can switch between them. Each tab is searchable on its own, so you can look inside just your Kindle books or just your Readwise library when you want to.

Find the highlight you want

  1. 01

    Filter down

Filter by source or book, by author, and by type. Use it to narrow to a single book or a single creator before you start scanning.

  2. 02

    Sort the list

Sort by most highlighted, A–Z, or most recent, depending on whether you're browsing or hunting for something you just saved.

  3. 03

    Search from the command menu

Press Cmd+K and use the Highlights tab to search your highlights from anywhere in Eden. Click a result to jump into the library.

Put highlights to work

Once you've found the lines you want, two actions take them further:

  • Send to board. Select one or more highlights and drop them onto a board, where they land as quote cards: the passage with its source attribution in an editorial layout. A board can double as a curated wall of the lines that matter to you.
  • Boost. Develop a highlight into an insight, mine post ideas from it, or stress-test the thinking behind it.
