Meet Custom AI: what changed and why

The two-minute overview of Eden's Custom AI update — where Prompts, Identities, and Briefs went, what still works, and what (nothing) you need to do.

Eden brought Prompts, Identities, and the work you did with Briefs into one simpler system: Custom AI. Your Prompts and Identities were carried over automatically, their old links still work, and the research and strategy capabilities from Briefs can all be replicated with a Custom AI. Here's the two-minute version.

What a Custom AI is

A Custom AI is an AI you build around a chosen set of knowledge — your instructions, your voice, and the boards, notes, files, or creators it should work from. You chat with it like a person who already knows the context, instead of re-explaining yourself in a blank chat.

One object now does what Prompts (reusable instructions) and Identities (your voice) did separately — plus knowledge, sharing, and its own chat history.

What happened to your stuff

  • Your Prompts are now Custom AIs with the same names and the same instructions. Find them in Custom AI → My AIs.
  • Your Identities are now voice Custom AIs. Each profile was written into a readable document in your Library called "[name] voice profile" — open it like any note.
  • Briefs no longer live in a separate part of Eden. Everything they did — researching your market, analyzing your performance, finding evidence, and turning it into a clear strategy — can be recreated with a purpose-built Custom AI. Install one from the Custom AI Marketplace, including Weekly Strategist, or build your own around the exact research process you want.
  • Old links, board cards, and / shortcuts all still work. They open the Custom AI that replaced the old object.
  • Your Prompt and Identity data wasn't deleted. The migration copied and connected; it didn't destroy.

What's different in the app

  • The sidebar has one Custom AI section instead of Prompts and Identities tabs.
  • Each Custom AI has its own page: its chats, its knowledge, its settings, in one place.
  • Brief-style research and strategy now happen inside a Custom AI instead of a separate Briefs area.
  • Explore offers ready-made Custom AIs from Eden you can install in one click.

If you only do one thing

Open Custom AI → My AIs and start a chat with something that used to be your favorite Prompt or your Identity. It works like before — and now you can also attach knowledge, share it, and keep its conversations together.
